ADR "limiter express" is one of my secret weapons for this. Insane amounts of drive, coupled with an expander and a limiter.... Insane explosions.
Couple that with a 33609.... Oh, and if you can find one, a Mcmartin limiter. The beige one with the sideways VU thingy. I had mine modded by purple audio with custom time constants, with the attack and release moved to the face, as well.
That thing will DESTROY drums in the most amazingly soupy, slow motion pumping mayhem way. Super syrupy... like every hit is plowing through 1000 tons of jello to get to the listener....
