Reason 3 seems to use considerably more processing power than 2.5 and earlier. Still, a dual G5 should be up to the task. I frequently use Reason 3 with DP4 via Rewire on a 1GHz G4 powerbook, and it works fine.

Keep in mind this is just one opinion. I bought the Trigger Finger, tried it out, then returned it. The feel wasn't right for me. I ended up buying the more expensive, less feature-rich AKAI mpd16, and I'm pleased with it. The Trigger Finger is a bit more sophisticated: faders, knobs, pressure sensing that can be routed to CCs, etc. Still I prefered the simpler AKAI. Try the Trigger Finger anyway. It might work for you.
