I'll post the track for this at some point-
this was for a poppy rock thing. The little Zildjian remix ride was placed high and centered by design ( i wanted it sitting front and center, but didn't want to spot mic it )

the rack tom is out to allow varied placing of mics- we ended up using a Rode on snare with a beta 98 clipped to the bottom ( bleifuss snare)

the kik is an old Ludwig Vistalite marching drum- 28 inch. There is a Beta 98 suspended thru the air hole, the 20 inch Gretsch is wide open and has a small hole... the proximity to the bass drum "lites up" the vistalite ( same idea as the DW woofer... only a little wilder) Toms are 9x13 and 11x15. Hats are a 16" thin custom A crash btm, and a cracked and shitty 15 thin customA crash top. washy trashy love.
My fav drummer and good friend Aaron Redfield slammed this track in my stead... allowed me to be "producer guy" . He's amazing- very much a Matt chamberlin type player. it was a fun track!
