OSHA workplace safety regulations -

1926.501(b)(1)"Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.

The scaffolding is not a 'lower level' and is also missing guardrails, toe boards, etc. 1910.28(b)(15).

1910.132(a) covers personal protective equipment such as hardhats (Duh, there is a crane on site) and safety glasses, etc.

Someone, at all times, needs to be looking out for these $15 an hour guys that don't know any better. This is the employers responsibility, NOT the project owners.

Nothing will wipe the shine off this beautiful new building faster than the scene of someone splattered about on the ground, whimpering for help with his last gurgling breath. Unfortunately I know this as fact.

The owner needs to address this issue with his contractors or hire someone to do this for him. Even when all the rules are followed, which admittedly is all but impossible, this type of work is extraordinarily dangerous.

I was intentionally "inflammatory" as to make a point. My intentions are also pure and I look forward to seeing this project completed.
