I know this is probably a little off topic, but I bought one of these new Vox AC4 heads as kind of a joke. They look cool and they're cheap (and all tube).

I saw one in a store and expected it to be just a distorted amp with no headroom. I liked the way it looked but $200.00 is a bit steep for a paper weight.

I saw one for $150.00 re-boxed so I pulled the trigger. Plugged it in and not only did it have a lot of clean headroom - it actually sounded like a Vox - clean , chimey and jangley.

The best part is it can go from 4 watts to 1 watt to 1/4 watt - and you can turn the volume up to ten and get some great crunch.

For anyone looking for a nice little amp to record I have to give this one a 10 - even if it were $400.00!
