and, spectral climax, what are you using for a midi controller? i have been so disappointed with controllers, especially as a keyboard player.
all of the new controllers look like and feel like junk to me... even novation, which, at the time of the supernova 2, made the best feeling keyboard out there... |
Well, i'm not a keyboard player, so i don't know what exactly a keyboard player needs..but I'm very happy with an m-audio Axiom 49 !..(totally better than any novation in this price range IMO)...I don't use it for virtuoso keyboard solos...just some simple chords and mainly for triggering events / recording automations etc..Personally i'm after build quality on midi controllers/keyboards and i believe that for $$$ m-audio Axioms are #1, my second choice could be an edirol PCR keyboard controller, or an AKAI mpk. I believe that Novation has the technology but their construction sucks..reminds me a little the first CME keyboards... I'm also planning to buy a Behringer BCR-2000 or BCF-2000..they are both ultra durable, highly programmable and cheap!...
For more money, i wouldn't buy an all in one keyboard controller... if you need a good performance keyboard only, you better look for a "more specialized" clavia stage with on board synth engines etc..or something in that price range.
also Mackie C4 seems very good for the price with all that info on the on board screens and Kenton stuff rocks but they don't have keyboards...
