I don't see anything wrong with any of that. Looks fine to me. You've got plenty of airspace at 6" I think.

Are you detecting a null or a peak? Could it be the front wall null? Take the speed of sound (1130ft/sec) and divide it by four, then take that quotient and divide it by the distance between the speakers and the wall. If that's 150 or close to 150, it could be your answer.
