By the way, I tried to demo it in Ableton (and Wavelab), WinXP, and used the demo license to unlock it, but my audio doesn't find it's way through the plugin - i get the input level on the left, but there is no output on the right. Anyone else got that problem? Is it a bug? Am I missing something?

Turns out some nasty bug crept in at the last minute and wreaks various kinds of amok--no sound in some hosts on some setups, and no sound at sample rates other than 44.1kHz. I'm investigating and we shd be able to release a fix within two days at most.
Edit and update: we just released maintenance release 1.0.1 that shd fix the "no sound passing through" issue (available from our download page. It appears only the Windows build was affected but just to be on the safe side an updated OSX version (with the -6dB bug fixed) is coming up as well. Sincere apologies for the trouble!
