Phoenix Di delivers sweet, open, smooth, simply beautiful sonics..
You can run it from cleaner to coloured sound..

And you get 2channels for a 2/3 of a price of a hi end single pre..

Your DAW will definitely thank you
2Loud and Phaidon, i've been checking out the Nice D.I. before, as a cheaper-per-channel solution to add more inputs to my system without shelling out for more mic pres than i need..

however, one thing i couldn't figure out looking at their site and the user manual: is this only a D.I. in a classical sense i.e. outputs a balanced mic level signal , and you must go to a mic preamp afterwards?

or this is a a D.I. with instrument pre inside, i.e. a "line driver", making it output a normal balanced LINE level (600ohm), that can go straight to A/D converters?

im hoping, presuming, its the latter... an example of such type of device is Avalon U5, which has both MIC and LINE outputs, so u can use it with a pre afterwards, or just go direct, depending which sound you prefer.
