cheap and easy, but both are active at the same time:
Dual monitor card, extend monitor to both stations and run mirrored displays, along with USB extension unless you're using a powered extender which runs usb down the line like one the ADC connector and using a DR. Bott pro to extend. But realize both keyboards, monitors and mouses (don't get me started w/ mice - it's not a species, and it's a row of houses on a street, nit a row of hice) sorry, I digress. Just be aware that if you have a kbd and mouse in both rooms, someone can f* with you by playing with the mouse in the other room - my personal favorite pastime to annoy the assistants after the session when I'm waiting on them.
As for FW, I'd keep th drives at the computer, but you can get a FW hub and extend from there also.
just my 2 cents, but when I get a penny for my thoughts, someone's getting that extra penny
