There are some small nuainces with the output impedance of the PU and the input impedance of the amp interacting. Often, different lengths of cable and different types change this interaction.
If you are going into a stomp box from the guitar, then this isn't an issue. Like Nutmeg sayz - put the peddal in the control room and you should be able to drive 20m better.
The other thing you can do (which has other advantages) is to use a decent wireless system like a Sure Diversity.
