best way to connect multiple synths

whats up slutz.
i'm looking for a way to connect multiple keyboards (5) and a drum machine to either a Digi003, or something better..

Here's what I'm working with:
I have the Digi003 rack with only 4 Pre's/8 line ins. I'm currently over the mark as far as inputs when including my recording set up.

I need 10 inputs for the synths, 2 for the drum machine. So I need 12 inputs. I could use the other 7 (i'm using one input for my Daking PreOne), but I'd still be 5 short.

My question is, should I buy a multitrack recorder (Fostex LR16?) or use the Digi003 + the M-Audio Octane or something. I dont want to have to keep unplugging keyboards.. plus my Digi003 is in the rack mount on my desk and i'd have to move the desk to unplug!!!
I've been searching online for solutions to this for the last couple of days. I know ADAT is an option, but the other dilemma would be which interface is the way to go (which is totally objective).

any help is greatly appreciated.
