Funny, I've just spent today doing that comparison. The 610 preamp is part of a UA 6176 (610 + 1176) strip I just got of CL. GR won on most sources. But the 610 is pretty good, and will get used. As a guitar DI, I liked it more than the GR.
610 doesn't have much headroom, and it can get ugly if you're not careful (fortunately, on the 6176, they've added a 15 db pad).
Digging having a hardware 1176, though, I gotta say.
