Just watched both videos. Nice music on both, but what struck me is that your timing of the music is a little ahead of the timing in the video.
For example, starting at about 20 seconds- in if you look at the timing of your back-beat against the completion of the post-it images, yours hits a little too early in my opinion. The timing of the other persons music seems to align perfectly with the transitions in the video. This is what the director may have been trying to say but didn't know how to put it into words.
I watched yours first; so had I not been comparing, I probably wouldn't have been critical of the timing and just enjoyed the nice vibe you composed for this creative video. But in comparing the 2, this is what I felt.
Comparison is a bitch! Just my opinion.
