Go to the Soundcraft website. Download one of the console manuals and look
for the EQ/Filter section. There you´ll find nice diagrams which explain all
the different filters to you.
Having a look at these diagrams will surely help to fully understand the
difference between (as an example) a lowcut filter and a low shelving filter.
