but that's the point "what's good" has millions (or at least tens/hundreds of thousands) of dollars invested in it, and the rest of the druck is on soundclick.
Here's the #1 "Pop" song on Soundclick right now:
MP3 Player SoundClick X-Sonic - Straight For The Heart
Here's the #50 Pop song on Itunes right now:
iTunes Store - Zac Brown Band - The Foundation (Deluxe Version) - Chicken Fried
*God did I pick a bad day to make this argument ;-)
the point I'm making is, list ten unsigned bands on soundclick that rival the top ten artists/songs on itunes.
In all seriousness - the huge divide in quality, on all levels, between the #1 pop song on Soundclick and the #50 song on itunes is no comparison.
even with art being subjective there is a clear difference in the quality that the "regular joe" understands and appreciates.
the whole point of GS is, how do I get my bedroom recordings to sound "pro"
people understand the difference between "pro" music and a band in a garage just as much as they understand the difference between "pro" athletes and the guys shooting hoops down the block.

But if the 'paying' regular joes are good, and it only takes another joe to produce it from his basement, then it is what it is. |
