I hope Allen and Heath has some flexibility for us guys who want to use quality converters and want to use board in tracking with our own pres (I have some 11 top line pres) so I would like to see the option of speccing the board with say 12 pres from Allen and Heath for the tracking, balance of 12 line ins so I can use my own outboard boutique pres..

For myself I would like to have the option of not getting the inboard converters so to use the board with external high quality converters- so analog ins and outs for DAW. Also crucial wordclock to slave to master clock for the board with converters.

This is looking like a real contender-was thinking of going X desk- but I usually track 10 to 12 channels so with X desk I would need 2 and with 2 masters its all a bit inelegant- and then you need to work out outboard eq.

Hmm- very tempted by this- made in England, solid build looking like the equivalent of SSL, Mike from Allen & Heath looks a very decent professional guy --- what is the word on the way the unit sums a mix ie how would it compare with X Desk on the summing width/depth/punch.

Any comments on guys using the Z16??

I really hope Allen and Heath slot this- Toft ATB is chinese, iffy quality and little muddy etc, Oram well- I have no faith in delivery or long term quality or backup service- the market is screaming for a solid desk like this that is in the quality zone of SSL but more sane on price for a full all in eq'd board.

Waiting very interested on this one- so what is the feedback on teh summing sonics and eq of this board???
