2-track output from Laptop

Hi, I would try out a Benchmark USB DAC, which also has Toslink inputs. It has xlr outs to your Genelecs and a fine headphone amp/output as well. The one without USB, with BNC & optical INs, is less than $1,000 and the USB version is about 13, I think. If your laptop has optical OUT, you're fine but if it's rca, then you'l need a converter. You should be very satisfied with the sound you get, especially if you pull those 8050s away from the walls and put 'em on Atlas mic stands. No need for a sound card change but I would temporarily disable the laptop sound card to prevent sample rate disputes between software apps.
Have fun with it!
