I have an old pair of Bose Around Ear TriPort something, and yesterday I decided to upgrade to Senheiser HD485, I have a friend that wants to sell them because he bought HD595. I haven't listened to headphones for almost 2 years. I got the HD485 from my friend, 6 month old, and just for fun I decided to compare them with my old pair of Bose. I knew Bose has very expensive products and they don't realy sound that good, almost every Pro hates them. Well............I had the biggest surprised EVER ! Bose just KILLED the HD485. OK, to be more specific : HD485 are more powerfull, for sure, but THAT'S IT !
Bose sound more natural, I can hear sounds that I can't hear on HD485, on Bose pair I can hear distinct rhythm, distinct bass, distinct bass vibrations when they appear in a song. On HD485 everything is mixed up, rhythm, bass & vibration are all in one ,,woofer,, sound. The HD485 gives me the impression that has an equalizer applied, and setup REAL BAD. Lots of medium frequencies are missing. On Bose I can hear the voice very clear and distinct, on HD485 the voice is behind all instruments, sounds very bad, and the low part of the voice is mixed up with the bass. I can go all day about this but I will stop for now.
I expected the HD485 to be superior, but Bose Around Ear TriPort are three times better. I know this is incredibble, but I played with them all day and belive me, is true. This Bose headphones are not perfect, I can find a lot wrong with them, but they ARE much better than Senheiser HD485
P.S. Sorry for my bad english. If you want a link to the Bose model I'm talking about just tell me, I'm not sure I'm allowed to post links to products
