I think technology and IP/Copyright are different issues. Just because I understand a technology doesn't mean I have to approve of it's misuse.
The larger irony is not that folks on GS are trying to protect IP/Copyright, but that there are so many people here that fundamentally don't even understand the concept.
Those of us who are professionals, meaning we make our living from the commerce of music are astounded at the level of ignorance on these issues.
The end of TBP shows the total nonsense of every pro-pirate argument - Free Music, Software, Movies are not a right granted because a technology appeared. If this we're true there would be no laws against murder just because we have guns.
Remember, guns don't kill people - people do. And so with P2P technology it is not the enemy, but rather it's misuse is - just like any other technology.
