Well of course I was just trying to cause a little bit of stirring of the waters.
I imagine as any manufacturer you take a look at your user base - myself included, being the happy owner of a couple of M7's. So you probably have looked at these numbers:
- How many use M7's with DAW's and/or digital consoles?
Meaning that they likely have Digital i/o available to them.
- What % is that of your total users and what % of qualified/potential customers that don't already own Bricasti products.
- How many of them prefer Digital i/o to Analog? What % of them consider the analog a uselessly redundant expense?
- What % of the cost of a current M7 is all the analog conversion hardware & design?
- How many of your potential users prefer to have to purchase 3 M7's in order to do surround?
- How many first-time buyers would be spurred to purchase a stereo M7 if the cost was just a bit lower but the product quality remained impeccable?
I would think that if the numbers stack up that:
Given a stereo M7 with Digital i/o only - then many people would tend to use their digital i/o's and purchase multiples of M7's. And a lot more people could get in the game with their first unit since the entry point would be somewhat lower.
A Digital-only Surround unit would spur sales to the smaller post crowd that has a hard time justifying $11K+ for a surround reverb setup.
Caveat:
Since I don't the the Bricasti Corp. it's really easy for me to say all this stuff. My pocket book is on the line to a much lesser extent than yours on this proposition.
I also wouldn't expect you to share your marketing with us. I'm sure that if you did a marketing survey you should use less 'weighted' questions than I did in the above queries. I am lobbying for a particular thing.
However, I would look forward to hearing your thoughts on these matters. Thanks for taking all the time your do on these forums.
Best regards always,
Jack
