It's not a practical product for anything but a smaller project studio. Like the 816, it is loaded with compromises that limit it's overal usefulness.
4 x ADAT ports, WC I/O and the ability to interface them freely with Cubase without losing the functionality of other features would have made a world of difference on this piece. The reason it's not selling like hotcakes is that it has more limitations than advantages in a
real world commercial studio. It does look like a very cool piece of gear for those whose needs are limited and it looks like it would be a very cool utility piece to have around.
I always watch the promo videos (and take them seriously) when I see a product like this hit the market.

There is a reason the promo shows a dub session instead of a tracking session with 10 mics on a drum kit, a scratch vocal, keyboards, bass and a couple of guitar amps DI'ed and mic'ed..........it ain't gonna' be able to accommodate this and the more money you throw at it by trying to make a DM1000/2000/O2R out of it by trying to interface them together, try to add an 816 and daisy chain AD/DA's off the ADAT port of the 816, etc.......the more PO'ed and frustrated you're going to become.
..........cool mixer/interface for small/dub sessions though.
