Wow, another busy week but we got a chance to do a bit more in terms of trim, drywall and acoustical treatment. The treatment in our Isolation room is a bit different. We're making up larger 4'x4' broadband absorbers and placing them right in the centre of each wall. As most of the tracking will occur in the centre of the room, we felt this made the most sense.
Here is the panel after we applied the fabric.
Here is the back of the panel. We made this with 3/4 inch MDF and it weights a ton, especially compared to our smaller thinner ones we made earlier.
Here is the front of the finished panel. Looks pro, no?
Here is one side of ISO1 with the new absorbers installed. It is starting to look like something.
Here is the same room with a different view. The walls on that side are a cool blue. We still need to put the trim on the top of the wall but we will put the traps in first. Our new drumset is in as well and the boxes are in this shot. Can't wait to get the room done so we can get the drums set-up.
Console is in and set-up. We're going to be doing 100% of our mixing in the box but we want to have the flexibility of an analog console for routing. The best bang for the buck had to be the A&H series.
We're keeping the electronic drums in the control room. Here you can see the rest of the acoustical treatment we put into the control room.
Here you can see the temporary keyboard set-up as well as some of the art my daughters did to put in the studio. New racks will be going in and will act as the stand for the keyboard.
Next update, we should be painting the Isolation Room B as well as getting the rest of the trim and bass traps in Isolation Room A. Still to come for the control room are monitors and the hardwiring.
