I own a pretty successful indie record label and it is EXTREMELY hard to get business insurance. As soon as the agent hears "music", they think of gun carrying, coke snorting freaks. We pay a HUGE premium and we called just about every insurance broker in the NYC area. It took us 3 months and 5 visits by the broker to finally get a policy for theft and liability. As if running a lable these days wasn't hard enough!!!

Try to find someone you know or someone who knows a broker....cold calling usually gets you outrageous quotes. We got quotes as high as $55,000/year!
