so, well, glad to hear it, you got compressor at last
yes sounding seems transparent, may be due to high headroom - i.e high overloading capacity. In fact, fully balanced circuitry operating by twice plate voltage, cancelling non musical harmonic - by two words, yes, it can sound transparently.
But please comment settings you choose -
Feedback or Feedforward mode,
Threshold,
Attack/Release ,
Low Cut switch
