Not only that, but hip hop is the most bass heavy music that there is. I know A LOT depends on the room I'm in, and my ears, what sounds good to me personally, etc. But I'd still like opinions anyway on what is the most accurate setup I can get for this type of music. It doens't have to sound "good" at all, just accurate between 20 - 300 hz. What I mean by accurate is that it will sound exactly as bassy in the studio as it will in the club, in the car, etc. Yeah, I know this is almost impossible to achieve because every speaker setup is different, and they might be using different EQ setups in the club, and etc. But I'm saying this anyway because it's the only way I know how to express what it is I'm looking for.

I was thinking about a set of KRK Rokit V8s. They seem to get good reviews, especially for hip hop. But this would leave little if no money left over a sub. Do I need a sub, however? Perhaps a sub would add too much bass, making the setup actually more inaccurate? If you think I should go with a sub, what is a good setup with two main speakers and one sub for under $600?

Thanks all.
Ummm, highs and mid's are also very important..ever herd a car coming down the road with the trunk rattling from the bass...sounds like shit huh...you need to make sure everything balances out!!!! There is nothing worse than a car with bass poundin but you cant hear the fukin lyrics or other music!!!
