i heard a rumor that digi will, in 2008, utilize a proprietary system. it will be a standalone box, probably with 24 I/O. here's the kicker... the new box will use it's own storage system--no more hard drives! it will be a linear arrangement of magnetic particles, and the music will be stored on this medium. i heard it's supposed to be called the digi A-827.
