I could write an entire book all about how screwed up the nashville music scene is... the areas of the country (usa) where I come from its all about talent can you play good??? can you run a 50,000 watt flying rig.. God knows I HATE nashville and discourage people to avoid it if at all possible

P.S. sorry for the rant I just loath the nashville music biz

awesome, why not ask someone who actually is here? have you lived here before? or are you just going by hearsay?

i think the thing that throws people off about the music scene down here is that it is not the place to be if you're starting out. if you are, you wont last 6 months, seriously. most of the people in music here are making their living doing it (although i have seen some studios closing lately b/c of the economy, of course).

finding professionals in nashville is just like anywhere else. you have to find an engineer that you could get along with...and not just someone who will run pro tools for you. i produce all of the bands that come through here, just because i want them to have an ideal CD to go shopping with. there are people that charge 2 or 3 times more than me for the experience. and that's ok, they've earned it, but where the heck did your landlord go to pay 25k?
