| attaching a wall to the ceiling with resiliant channel?
I've just framed the inner walls of a new control room in my basement, not touching anything but the slab. for the time being we aren't finishing the ceiling of the live room, so the outer wall facing the live room will be attached directly to the existing ceiling joist. my question is would it be a good idea to attach the wall to the ceiling with resilient channel rather that directly to the joist in an effort to avoid having the wall act as a giant transducer to the floor above, or is it irrelevant as any sound that is hitting the wall directly is also hitting the majority of the unfinished ceiling currently? I may eventually put a ceiliing on the live room.
thanks for any insight!
