Inverter noise all around...

Hello everyone!
First af all I wanna thank you all, Gearslutz is such an incredible source of informations!
Here's my problem:
I moved my home studio to an existing structure ran by two friends, opened few month before I moved in. The big problem we have is a nasty RFI probably coming from two elevators in the adiacent building. To exclude every possible variable I took a battery powered mini guitar amp and a single coil guitar pickup and I started wandering around since I found the source. This LOUD RFI begin when the elevator is activated, modulated from around 1KHz up to 4KHz. It's impossible to record single coil guitars and basses and I had occasionally some RFI coming inside a Summing Mixer and few other equipment. The elevators are at least 10 meters away with some heavy brick wall in between. According to the manifacturer it's possible to get rid of that RFI but we should pay around 1500 Euros for each elevator, but I hardly beileve them. To get the thing worse, we have in the studio 3 Daikin air conditioners driven by an inverter, causing more static RFI all over the guitar recordings. But I can turn them down...
What should I do beside moving out?
Thanks again for your help,
Roberto
