i dont need a timeline, i don't need audio represented as waveforms, i don't need comping tools, i don't need amp simulators. I just want something that can take in 4-8 tracks at a time, takes about 3 seconds to setup because it's always hardwired to my interface, defaults to the mixer view with transport controls, and some kind window with metering and other relevant information.
if i need more than that i'll just use my full-featured DAW, thank you very much.
hmm. but i dont really need any of that. im a songwriter first and foremost, so this program is aimed towards my demographic. But i just picked up a teac 144 tape portastudio, and it does everything i need with no ****ing latency, doesn't require a computer and sounds just fine to my ears. |
I'm probably looking at it from the 'wrong' side of the glass. I'm a studio owner and professional engineer. Although my company also provides production, I'm an engineer #1. For the singer songwriter type of person it looks quite alright I guess. Then again, I don't understand the whole 'this is for musicians not engineers' thing. Why include so much stuff then? (Especially the modeled 'SSL'). That's a lot of nubs for the 'non engineer'.
Good looks on the tape recorder, that's old school man
