Some have said, "If you can get the right writer, it would be a hit."
I've worked with seemingly hundreds of writers that just weren't good enough, not developed enough or hungry enough.
Their work ethic is not there.. When I say we need to rewrite the 2nd verse bc it can be stronger, they shut down or say no its good enough... They think their God given talent is enough to coast on and they don't need to actually do homework and work on their craft.
They don't understand how hard this damn business is or how good your shit needs to be (if you have no track record) in order to get a placement.
And out of the lot theres maybe a couple, but they're either too hollywood, greedy, undisciplined or ego-inflated to put the time in to get quality finished product.
I do pop-urban, btw, but emphasis more on pop. a la jordin sparks, leona lewis, britney, beyonce, etc... |
And you're trying to choose which PRO to join in order for them to link you up with lyricists? First of all, I'm not sure that's their job. Secondly, you can join each one as a publisher and belong to all of them.
Good writing partners are hard to find. Are you a writer or just looking to produce?
