ok..here is the challenge
i've got 12 1" 705 frk panels that i have had in storage for years. at the suggestion of the gurus here i need two 6" bass traps for my studio to take care of nulls/standing waves at 150hz and below.
since i have the 705 i am wondering if i can use these to do it?
here is my plan:
i can remove some of the frk backing and loosely/lightly glue just the corners of the panels to create 2 "6 panels of 705.
then attach them to a wood frame on the back of the panels leaving 1"to 2" off the wall and then cover with fabric. the sides would not be covered with wood, just the back.
there is a nice youtube video from ready acoustics on how to do this which seems easy enough for someone like me who sucks as wood work.

will this work and should i leave some of the frk backing on at least one if not 2 of the panels?
also if i were to leave the frk should it be on the front or back of the bass trap or both?
lastly the youtube video leaves 1" space between the wall...should i do more or is this fine?
thanks in advance for your help and comments.
