Yea I have no respect for DJ's now. Im sorry I just dont.. unless you are making your own stuff.. and unless you are really getting creative with your sets, it just doesnt impress me whatsoever.
I have always been a guitar player/ musician/ engineer/ composer /whatever though.
Been going to parties in NY for over 10 years and all, but never felt comfortable playing other people stuff. Even so, back in the day it was a SKILL to dj, and you had to put your work and money in to get records.. then learn how to spin them.
Beatport/tracktor/serato have ruined the DJ.. there needs to be more of an evolution of live electronic music IMO.
