well... the guitar tracking could have been done better, experiment with different sounds (guitars, amps etc.) and layer em. Regarding the snare: I would scoop a lot of 500 Hz moderate Q, boost 1 kHz with a very high Q and lose almost everything below 100-200 Hz. Regarding the little things: that is mixing my friend. It just may be what you like, but I would do a lot of tweaking to this. But like I said, f*ck me if you like it (since this is about metal i can say f*ck right?
