Thanks for the reply Dim Light, that's exactly the sorta stuff I'm looking for.

I've never really thought about fine tuning a de-esser before because its not much of an issue with a bunch of screaming / growling. With you comments in mind I can totally hear what your hearing. Puts a blanket over the vocals and the under exaggerated esses make them sound less convincing.

Bassist had a decent bass but one of those horrible new fender bass heads which was completely unusable. All I has was the DI and it kinda got rushed toward the end of mixdown.
