Modern Recording Techniques Vs. Recording The Engineer's Handbook
I'm trying to decide on which one of these to pick up so I wanted to ask here. After taking a look at both, it seems to me that the Modern Recording Techniques book has a bit of everything, and the Recording Engineer's Handbook is chock full of basically nothing but mic placements. Correct me if I'm wrong on that one though.
I am more than satisfied with Owsinski's Mixing Engineer's Handbook, I can't give it enough credit. But I'm not too sure if the Recording Engineer's Handbook would be just as useful since as I said, it seems to be mostly about nothing but mic placement and techniques.
I'm looking for a book on all around tracking. Which do you prefer and why?
EDIT: That gosh darn E key :P
