Hi Brian, Thanks very much for this. Unfortunately it has not helped.
I also tried some different ram in the pc today and have flashed the bios but this has not made any difference either. Steve from the support line has indicated that the Yamaha r & d are on the case as there is another customer with the same issue. Apparently his is a home built pc as well.
The firewire irq is a lowly no. 23 and is also allocated to one of the usb's as well. Not sure if this might make a difference but I am going to investigate. Bob
