did i use too much R30 insulation in my ceiling

hey guys,

this is my first time on this side of the forum so please bare with me

i am about to redo my room as it is not working for me as mixes do translate well especially on the bottom end...seems to have something funky going on around 150hz

anyway is starting over the first question i have is that i have a false ceiling in the room with basic armstrong office ceiling tiles. a friend suggested that i put some r30 insulation up there so i stuffed it in...probably got about 18 inches of it up there from the front wall to about 80% of the back wall. basically 2 layers on the insulation but towards the back of the room just one layer.

the room also gets really warm or really cold with the central ac. no inbetween

is this too much or too little?

i admit that i am and idiot when it come to studio construction and this kind of stuff.

any thoughts or help would be useful as i've got to fix my room. after all what is the point of me having bryston pwr amps, 1073's and pt hd if my room sucks?

thanks,

ej
