Great questions. Bump for more visibility. I read GREAT things about the quality of the preamps and converters in the Yamaha N series. But I don't know how they compare to the Mackie Onyx or M-Audio you're asking about. No clue on the Alesis stuff either. But the price point sure is compelling isn't it?
