have you considered getting some cans? eg Sennheiser HD600/HD650 (open back - generally considered to be very accurate). Another suggestion - Sennheiser HD25 - but
not the cheaper SP version

I agree re PMCs - great speakers - I had no idea they did passives, but would be surprised if you could find any on ebay - I think I'll do the same!
