It's not hard to get this same "effect" but part of the reason Quicks sounds so good is where and what he used. Skip Saylor has a great sounding room and hiss SSL and Urei/Pultec combos don't hurt either (plus I'm sure it was mastered by Brian Gardner from Bernie Grundmans). I actually consider Quick a Producer/engineer first and a rapper second (third?) He is a beast in the studio that is VERY talented and focused and knows exactly how to get the sound he is trying to achieve
