WOWSER!
Colour me seriously impressed, but with the ex-Steinberg guys at KristalLabs doing the work they've definitely got the experience.
1. Drag & Drop video is serioulsy impressive - the browser seems very well implemented, and the Effects Chains is great. A lot of it reminds me of Reaper, but with even better flow.
2. K-System metering!
3. UI looks very intuitive
4. Loops & Browser seem to work well
5. Drag an VSTi from the browser, and be playing the MIDI in a second - very nice.
What I would want to see?
MIDI editing capabilities:-
Drum Editor / Maps (one of my main bugbears with Reaper)?
Mixer / Automation / Flexibilty?
Hardware Control / Generic Remote (integration with Presonus hardware sounds like that maye well be covered)?
Configurable Layouts both for screens and mixers? Having something like FX chains leads me to believe that Studio One will be all about making things configurable.
I know Presonus get a bit of a bad rap here (I have Central Station and it's great), but I'm very impressed with this - ambitious, and totally out of leftfield.
