| Thanks for the data Terence. I checked the block diagram in the manual and there appears to be a head amp on the stereo inputs so you're right, it would be an extra, unnecessary gain stage. I'll probably try it here when I get the N12 anyway just to see what kind of result I get.
It would be great if Yamaha built an 8 channel converter with no pre-amps that could be daisy-chained with the N12's Firewire for people who want to record more tracks at the same time but have their own pre amps. It would be real nice with inserts too. If the converters are as good as people say it would be a great addition to the line.
