Ok, that makes perfect sense. I was wondering how 2 sheets of 5/8 could cause the roof to come down, that is what I was understanding from the Rod's Book.
I am not planning on doing a lower ceiling, I am simply going to do a cathedral ceiling by attaching the RC2 to the 2x4's then the two layers of 5/8 drywall with a layer of green glue in the middle...I know there are other advertised products that are much cheaper....anyone have any success with them?
At this point I was actually thinking of putting plastic directly to all the inside studs like you were describing...my point was to keep moisture out but I can see the isolation is always a plus! Will any basic plastic work for this?
