He had a fun new prototype snare rim, with a flanged FLAT edge on it. I should have grabbed a photo, but was too pumped to just be recording him! It was interesting, and combined with his Tama signature 5x14, the backbeat was steady and powerful... but like all great players, no matter the instrument, you realize very quickly how much of their sound is due to THEM and their hands/heart.

I will certainly post some music as soon as it's listenable... I mean the drum tracks alone are incredible, but I'm wary of posting a naked Aronoff groove on the net to be sampled and used without credit or permission from him... it's my first time with him and I love him to come back, so I don't want to piss him off and abuse the connection! We actually had him play single notes of each drum after each song, and he joked about us putting out a Kenny Aronoff sample CD as soon as he left town!!
