since i own a very cheap tube amp for my recording synth chain i stay away from every plugin and came to the conclusion that non-analog distortion sucks realy bad.
get yourself a tube and just overdrive the input. get yourself more tubes to have some more possibilites but for my case i will stay away from software in the future.
