If you purchase good clay, there's almost 0 risk of it leaving any mark, residue or any other problems. In fact, if you don't wipe down the desk first, you'll end up with a bunch of shit on your clay from the desk rather than vice versa.

It's very cheap, easy and you can customize the layout (one channel up/down).
This sounds like a great idea! This modelling clay could potentially be very useful for more stuff in the studio.
