Been doing a record @ 88.2KHZ/24BIT in Logic pro 6.4.2, OSX 10.3.9, Dual G5 +3.5 Gb ram, all audio on xtra ATA internal drive (7,200rpm).....usual live kit / bass tracks, 6 gtr tracks, multiple bvs tracks...I think around 48 audio tracks in total ( with lots of edited regions)...... Now while comping the bvs...ie using the loop function....I keep getting "System Overload" messages.....at these high resolutions, have I come to the end of ma G5's capabilities ?
Whilst watching the activity moniter I notice the Logic CPU usage maxes out @ 100% + everytime I get "System Overload" messages....which leads me to think the CPU has had enough.......I can't be a ram issue 'cause activity moniter is always sitting at 2.7 Gb of RAM unused.
