Foam is not as effective as rockwool/fibreglass/mineral wool. If it isn't going to cost anything then it won't hurt and may offer a small improvement. I personally would not buy any for the job though. Another option are the superchunk corner traps. They fill the gap entirly and will improve the effeciency but will make the price escalate and are not as good value. It does come down to budget at the end of the day.
